A Palace Full of Worry

King Saul’s palace was grand, but some days the king’s thoughts felt heavy and stormy. The rooms grew quiet because no one knew how to help.

A servant remembered a young shepherd who played the harp with unusual skill.

The Shepherd Arrives

David came from the hills carrying his harp. He did not boast or demand attention. He listened, found a quiet place, and prepared to serve.

The gift he had practiced among sheep was now needed in a palace.

Music Changes the Room

David played slowly. The clear notes moved through the hall like light through a window. The servants breathed easier. The king’s shoulders relaxed.

David could not solve every problem, but he could offer peace in that moment.

Skill Grows in Secret

No one in the palace had seen the hours David spent practicing alone. They only heard the fruit of that practice when it was needed.

Every careful repetition on the hill had become a way to serve someone in pain.

Play to Serve

David’s music was not only about being admired. He used it to help another person breathe, rest, and find a calmer moment.

Whatever your gift may be—music, drawing, building, listening, cooking, fixing, or comforting—practice it well, then use it with kindness.
