Peace Makes Room to Build

David had worked through many hard years to make the borders safe. When Solomon became king, the roads were open, neighbors could trade, and families could work without running for the walls.

Solomon understood that peace was not empty time. Peace was time to build what people needed.

Friends Across the Sea

Solomon worked with King Hiram and skilled craftspeople from nearby lands. Cedar logs traveled by water. Food, oil, timber, knowledge, and labor moved between friends.

The house would be built through cooperation, not by one person doing everything alone.

Finished at the Quarry

Stonecutters measured and shaped the stones before sending them to Jerusalem. They checked edges, sizes, and markings again and again.

Mistakes were easier to fix at the quarry than high on the final wall.

The Quiet Build Site

When the prepared stones arrived, they fit into their places. The final site did not need constant cutting and pounding. Builders guided each piece into the plan.

The quiet was evidence of preparation, not a lack of work.

A House for Gathering

The house was filled with beauty, but the beauty pointed beyond itself. People came to give thanks, pray, remember truth, and renew their promise to live faithfully.

Solomon stood before the people and asked God to hear prayers offered from every honest heart.

Every Family at Rest

The goal of strength, roads, trade, wisdom, and building was not endless work. It was a land where families could rest safely under their vines and fig trees, with no one making them afraid.

The shepherd made room for peace. The builder built inside that peace. The people were the reason for both.
