A Loud Giant

A giant warrior stood across the valley and shouted frightening words. Day after day, the soldiers heard him and stepped back.

David came only to bring food to his brothers, but he noticed something important: everyone was listening to the giant’s size and forgetting God’s strength.

Armor That Did Not Fit

The king offered David heavy armor. David tried it, but he could hardly move. He had not practiced in it, so he took it off.

David did not pretend to be someone else. He would use the tools he knew: his staff, sling, and careful aim.

Five Smooth Stones

At the stream, David chose five smooth stones. He prepared more than one, even though the first might be enough.

Courage is not careless. David trusted God and still prepared carefully.

One Brave Step

David stepped into the valley. He did not brag about himself. He spoke about the God who had helped him care for the flock.

Then David ran toward the problem, placed one stone in his sling, and let it fly. The stone struck the giant, and the giant fell. The danger was broken, and the frightened army found courage.

The Small Thing Was Ready

The stone was small, but it was ready. David was young, but he had practiced. The valley was frightening, but God was faithful.

Do not measure usefulness only by size. A small prepared thing in faithful hands can help solve a very big problem.
