Two Stories

Two women came before King Solomon, and both said the same baby belonged to her. There were no witnesses and no simple mark that could settle the question.

Solomon did not rush. He listened to each story from beginning to end.

What Does Love Protect?

Solomon knew words alone might not reveal the truth. He announced a hard test that would divide the claim so neither woman simply got what she wanted.

The room became still. The baby remained safe with the attendant while Solomon watched each woman’s response.

The Mother Who Let Go

One woman cried, ‘Please do not continue. Let the other woman take the child—only keep the baby safe.’ She was willing to lose her own claim rather than see the child harmed.

Solomon stopped the test immediately. Her protecting love had told the truth.

The Child Goes Home

Solomon returned the baby to the true mother. The people saw that his wisdom was not about sounding clever. It was about finding a path where truth could come into the light.

The child went home safe and loved.

Solomon listened for more than strong words. He listened for the heart that protected the innocent person.
